Ilia State University was founded in 2006 as a result of a merger of six different academic institutions with long and varied histories.  Currently, it is one of the leading research and educational institutions in Georgia.  Representing a union of students and professors, ISU is a multifunctional educational and research institution offering a common space for academic and professional education and research with the joint efforts of its students, professors, teachers and researchers.

The union is based on the three following principles:

These principles are closely interrelated and interdependent: Students, teachers, professors and researchers are free to choose areas of study and research, as well as colleagues and supervisors to work with. Students and professors are free to choose any form of transparent and responsible self-governance they believe is best for the advancement of their union– the university–and its goals and objectives.

Documents required for obtaining a Georgian visa or stay:

• Passport picture

• Opening a bank account

• Have a financial commitment of at least $ 2000

• Receive University Registration Letter

• Having a Certificate of Proficiency with an official translation into English

Language preparation courses:

• IELTS or TOEFL Certificate holders do not require a language course.

• Entrants in the English language entrance exam do not need to take an English language course.

• If the applicant does not have an IELTS qualification and does not pass the English Language Test, he / she will attend a 3 month English language course.

University Educational Calendar:

The academic year at ILIA University is scheduled each year from September 1 to August 31 of the following year. Each academic year has two terms: Fall and Spring semesters, including winter and summer holidays.

Duration of study in both semesters is 20 weeks. There are also two-week courses for oral and written exams.

Winter holidays typically last less than 2 weeks and last at least one month during the summer. The process is done 6 days a week, usually from 9am to 6pm.

Official holidays:

• December 31, January 1 and 2 - New Year's Holidays ؛

• January 7 - Christmas ؛

• May 26 - Georgia Independence Day;

• August 28 - Mother's Day

• November 23 - St. George's Day.

Admission and registration costs will be $ 2000.

Deadline for Receipt and Registration:

For the first semester of the academic year the deadline for submitting applications is the end of August and for the second semester of the academic year will be the end of January.

Student dormitory :

 - The cost of student accommodation will vary from $ 200 to $ 350 per month depending on the type of room you choose.
