Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction is located in Baku. Teaching is conducted in Azerbaijani, Russian and English. Founded in 1975, the university has 5 educational buildings and a campus with a total area of ​​49,000 square meters. There is a Construction College and a technical lyceum at the university.

Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction in 1920 functioned as a "Construction" faculty within the Baku Polytechnic College, in 1932-34 as a free Construction Institute, and since 1934 as a "Construction" faculty within the Azerbaijan Industrial Institute. In connection with the establishment of the Azerbaijan Polytechnic Institute in 1951, the "Construction" faculty was moved there. In 1975, by the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Azerbaijan Institute of Civil Engineers was established. Since 1992, the Institute has received the status of a University. On June 13, 2000, by the decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev, this university was renamed the Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction. In the same year, Professor, Honored Architect Gulchohra Huseyn gizi Mammadova was appointed Rector of the University.

University Educational Calendar:

• The academic year at AZMİU University is scheduled each year from September 1st to August 31st of the following year. Each academic year has two semesters: fall and spring, including winter and summer vacations.
• The study period in both semesters is 20 weeks. There are also two-week courses for oral and written exams.
• The winter holidays usually last less than 2 weeks and last at least a month during the summer. The study process takes place 6 days a week, usually from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
